About Me

I am the mother of a vegetable-adverse 9-year-old whose humor inspires my writing. I’m a volunteer in both his classroom and youth sports organizations. I have been attending writing classes and conferences in person and online. As a former newspaper and magazine writer, my publication history includes breaking news and feature stories. I participated in the 2017 Writers Games and I am a member of SCBWI. I have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with minors in business and political science, and a master’s degree in public policy administration. I live in Palm Springs, CA with my family and our dog Benny the Jet, who is available for stepping on my keyboard during Skype session if you’d like to discuss my work.

To date, I have been querying picture book manuscripts, however I wrote a middle grade adventure during NaNoWriMo and  I just submitted it that manuscript to Pitch Wars!

My Writing Roots

I  began writing as a child and fell in love with storytelling.   Eventually, I became fascinated with journalism and pursued it  professionally.  I spent my early adulthood writing for newspapers and  magazines.

I  began writing fiction about three years ago. After experimenting in  multiple genres, I discovered a passion for kidlit--which is commonly  fueled by reading incredible stories with my son!

I am currently querying agents. I am hoping to find an editorial agent who wants to work with me through the growth of my writing career.
